· Announcement

Quavblok closes on 10 October.

The Minecraft network at mc.quavern.net stops at 00:00 Paris time on 10 October 2026. It works and it costs little, but it is the one Quavern service that gives the studio nothing back — so it closes now, plainly, rather than quietly rotting.

What stops, and when

mc.quavern.net stops at 00:00 Paris time on 10 October 2026 — the end of Friday 9 October. The proxy, the lobby, the rounds and the survival world stop together.

There is no read-only period and no archive afterwards. A Minecraft world nobody can join is a file, not a place, and pretending otherwise would only postpone this page.

Why

Quavern is one person and one machine. Everything the studio runs shares that machine: the assistant, the API, the transport data, the accounts, the operator console. Quavblok takes its share of the memory and its share of the attention — a line in the terms, a line in the privacy policy, a row on the status page, a family in the error catalogue, a plugin to rebuild whenever Minecraft moves.

It gives none of it back. It sells nothing, by design. It is not adjacent to what the studio actually does: AI, developer tools, public-data systems, open source. And it never became a place people return to — a handful of rounds played by a handful of people, which is a fine thing to have made and not a thing to keep running.

That is the whole reason. Nothing broke, nobody left, no incident forced this. The server simply does not earn the room it occupies, and a studio this small cannot afford to run things out of sentiment.

What happens to your account

Nothing you need to do, and nothing to pay: Quavblok never took a payment and never will.

When the server stops, the link between your myQuavern account and your Minecraft profile is removed, along with the player settings and the anti-cheat records that went with it. Your myQuavern account is untouched — Marl, Quavsit, your keys and your billing are separate from this and stay exactly as they are.

If you built something in the survival world and would like your part of it, write to hello@quavern.com before 9 October and it will be sent to you.

Until then

Nothing changes. The server stays open, the rounds keep rotating, and nothing degrades on the way out. There is no countdown in the lobby and no farewell event — you will see one quiet line when you join, and that is all.

Thank you

To everyone who joined for a round: thank you. Quavblok was built to be a calm place with no store, no season pass and no pressure to stay, and for the time it ran it was exactly that.

The work does not disappear with it. The account link, the settings a player owns rather than a server, and the moderation path it needed all became part of myQuavern, where they now serve every Quavern service.

Some things are worth building once and not worth running for ever.
